My Seeds Arrived

// September 7th, 2010 // No Comments » // garden

My seeds finally arrived! They were delivered by USPS in a small brown package at about 2pm. It is great timing because I just started a week of vacation. Now I have something fun to do this week. That is if the weather cooperates.

Finding Seeds

// September 1st, 2010 // No Comments » // garden

Ok, so I ordered seeds from an online retailer (one of the companies that sells seeds at the box stores). I thought I could wait to buy but the seed companies picked up the old seeds a few days before I went to the store. So if you are new to gardening in South Florida be aware that you might have difficulty finding seed in late summer.

My seeds should be arriving in few days. I might have gone a little overboard with all the varieties but I will have fun trying to make it work.

Here is the list:
Tomatoes (2 types)
Carrots
Yellow squash
Cucumbers
Cantaloupe
Watermelon
Bell peppers
Yellow onions
Bunching white onions (scallions)
Pumpkin (actually a seed from the rabbit food) my kids planted it.

I will also add strawberries.
